Poolseidon Privacy Policy
Effective date: January 1, 2027
Poolseidon is provided by Missing Rover LLC, based in Florida, United States ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the Poolseidon app, visit its support and privacy pages on missingrover.com, or contact us about it.
Poolseidon is initially offered in the United States and is intended for adult pool owners and operators. It is not directed to children.
For privacy questions or app support, email support@missingrover.com.
Information stored in the app
Poolseidon stores information you enter or import to help you manage your pool. Depending on the features you use, this can include:
- Pool names, location information, pool dimensions, equipment, and preferences.
- Water-test results, observations, notes, and maintenance records.
- Treatment plans, recorded actions, corrections, and execution history.
- Records imported from services you choose to connect.
- Scanned water-test reports and, if you choose to retain them, report images.
These app records are stored locally on your device. Poolseidon does not operate a Missing Rover account service or upload these records to a Missing Rover server. The app does not synchronize its database through CloudKit.
Your device's backup and restore features may handle app data separately, depending on your device settings and Apple's services. Local storage does not mean that device backups are disabled.
Camera, photos, and report scanning
You can use the camera to scan a printed water-test report or choose an image through the system photo picker. Poolseidon prepares the report image and recognizes text on your device. It does not send report images or recognized text to a remote OCR or AI service.
You review the recognized results before saving. If you choose to retain a report image with the results, that image is stored with the app's local records. A report may contain personal details printed by its issuer, so review it before retaining or sharing it.
Optional connected services and weather
You can use Poolseidon's local pool records and manual test-entry features without connecting an external account. When you choose a connected feature, requests go from your device to the relevant provider and its supporting services. The provider receives the information needed to service those requests, along with ordinary network information such as your IP address.
| Service | Information sent and purpose |
|---|---|
| WaterGuru | Your sign-in information is sent to WaterGuru's authentication services, including Amazon Web Services. Account identifiers and authorization information are used to retrieve your connected pools and readings. |
| Leslie's | Your sign-in information and customer identity are sent to Leslie's services to sign in, renew access when needed, and retrieve your water-test history. |
| PoolMath | The share link or access code you provide is sent to PoolMath to retrieve the pool history available through that reference. |
| Tempest | Authorization occurs through Tempest's sign-in flow. Authorization tokens and station identifiers are used to discover your stations and retrieve weather history. Station information, including coordinates returned by Tempest, is processed locally. Poolseidon does not forward those station coordinates to Open-Meteo. |
| Open-Meteo | When you request location lookup, your entered postal code and country are sent to Open-Meteo. Weather requests send the confirmed postal-region coordinates, time zone, and requested weather dates. They do not include your account email, local pool name, tests, notes, treatment plans, or report images. |
These integrations retrieve information; Poolseidon does not upload your locally entered pool tests, treatment plans, notes, or report images to them. Authentication and access requests are still transmissions of information even when an integration only imports records.
Providers may retain request or account-access information under their own policies. For example, Open-Meteo's privacy terms describe technical logs that can contain IP addresses and geographic coordinates, with individual log files deleted after 90 days. That is Open-Meteo's stated practice, not a retention period controlled by Missing Rover.
You can review provider policies here:
Those policies describe each provider's broader services and may cover activities beyond requests made by Poolseidon.
Sign-in information and security
Connected-service credentials and access references are held in platform secure storage rather than ordinary app preferences.
- WaterGuru: Poolseidon does not save your password. Its authentication integration retains connection information to support continued access.
- Leslie's: Poolseidon stores your email address, customer identity, and password in device-only Keychain storage so it can renew access automatically. Disconnecting removes that credential entry.
- PoolMath: The share/access reference is stored in device-only Keychain storage. Treat it as sensitive because it can provide access to shared pool records.
- Tempest: Authorization tokens are stored in device-only Keychain storage. Poolseidon does not receive your Tempest password through the provider's sign-in flow. Disconnecting removes the app's saved authorization.
Provider requests use encrypted HTTPS connections. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
Reminders, Live Activities, and sharing
With your permission, Poolseidon schedules local notifications for treatment waits. Live Activities may display pool and treatment-status information on system surfaces such as the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. Device settings control what others can see. Poolseidon does not use a developer-operated push notification service.
If you choose a share or export action, the information you select is passed to the destination you choose. That destination's privacy practices then apply. Sharing is not an automatic upload to Missing Rover.
Advertising and analytics
Poolseidon does not include advertising, advertising tracking, developer analytics, or a developer-operated crash-reporting service. Missing Rover does not sell app records or share them for targeted advertising.
This does not mean connected providers receive no information. Their account and technical-request processing is described above.
Contacting support
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments. We use this information to respond to your request, investigate issues, and maintain support correspondence. Our email service provider processes and stores these messages to deliver our support service.
We retain support correspondence while a request is open and for at least 12 months after it is closed. You may request deletion by emailing support@missingrover.com, subject to applicable rights and any continuing need to retain the information for support or legal reasons.
Please do not send passwords, authorization tokens, or integration share codes.
Visiting our website
We use Cloudflare to host and serve the Missing Rover website, including Poolseidon's support and privacy pages. When you visit, Cloudflare processes network and request information, which may include your IP address, requested URL, and browser or device information, to deliver and protect the website. Cloudflare may retain technical records under its service configuration and privacy policy.
The website does not include advertising or third-party analytics scripts, and its own code does not set cookies. Your theme preference is saved locally in your browser and can be removed by clearing this website's stored data. It is not used to identify you or track you across websites.
Support messages are handled as described above. Visiting the website does not give us access to the pool records stored in your app.
Retention and your choices
Poolseidon keeps local records to provide your pool history and treatment context. Correcting or retracting an entry can preserve its earlier version so past plans and actions remain understandable. Archiving a pool is not permanent deletion.
You can turn off automatic synchronization for supported water-testing integrations, disable weather collection, or disconnect connected services through the app's settings. Turning off automatic sync still allows a manual sync. Disabling weather collection does not itself remove the ability to request a separate postal-code lookup.
Disconnecting stops future connected synchronization but does not, by itself, delete records already imported. Where the app offers a separate imported-history erasure option, its confirmation explains the scope and consequences. Do not assume that an erasure option exists for every data type or provider.
Disconnecting Poolseidon does not delete your account or records held by an external provider. Use that provider's own controls or contact it to request changes to its records. You can also review and revoke app authorization through provider controls where available.
Missing Rover cannot remotely retrieve or erase records held only in your local app database. For help with local data removal, or to request access, correction, or deletion of support information held by us, contact support@missingrover.com. Any applicable privacy rights depend on your location and the information involved.
Device backups, copies you export, and information held by external providers are managed separately. Removing local app data does not necessarily remove those copies or saved Keychain credentials. Disconnect services before removing the app if you want to remove the app's stored connection information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or our information practices change. We will post the updated policy at missingrover.com/poolseidon/privacy/ and update its effective date.
